The number one problem we see with infographics is too much information and too many graphics competing for the reader’s attention.
Don’t include every single fact and figure about a topic. Save something for your next infographic! It should strike a nice balance between text and imagery — and leave a little empty space.
A good infographic should be a directed experience that steers the reader through a topic with graphics that make sense and a presentation that’s easy on the eyes.
And don’t make the mistake of making your infographic too large so it stretches forever down the page. If you want to get your infographic picked up by media websites, don’t make it wider than 600 pixels or longer than 1600 pixels – since most media sites don’t have more room than this to devote to it.
